The European roulette follows the "En Prison" rule which permits the player to make even money bets. Here, if the ball lands on zero slot, half the bet is returned to you and the other half remains with the house. In case you win the following round, the en prison bet is released, although you don't get any earnings. To have your bet returned, the ball should land on the 0 slot at the next spin.
